Even if you’re someone who somehow manages to thrive in billion degree temperatures, summer can be a total ball-ache of a season. If you’ve got younger kids – congrats, you’ve almost hit that time of year when everything becomes harder to juggle, what with that whole massive, bullsh*t discrepancy between time off for adults and time off for school kids. Who tf has time for anything other than survival?
And if even you don’t have kids (you lucky gits), life just goes out of routine and becomes massively more hectic. Don’t know if you noticed but it’s farking hot. How you going to fit in work and al fresco socialising while also battling perimenopausal boob sweat?
Throw in exercise on top, and most of us are just NOPEing out hard.
SO, instead of worrying about sticking to your usual workout times or even our own suggested FitBtch workout frequencies, we give you permission to throw that sh*t out the window for a while and look for smaller pockets in the day where moving your arse fits naturally.
An under-30-minute strength or mobility sesh while the TV babysitter is doing its thang, a quick one before breakfast before it becomes warmer than a soft play centre on the surface of the sun, or even turning park time into your own mini workout session… walking lunges, squats, or running laps around the playground. Okay maybe f*ck that last one off but what we’re getting at is: any movement counts.

Another tip if you’re a kid-haver? Make movement a family activity. Considering kids literally follow you into the bog when you want to take 5 minutes to poo in peace, you could actually try to get them involved. Do a FitBtch workout together (maybe put us on mute because of all the minge chat) or a little dance session in the living room? Just keep everyone moving and take the pressure off “proper” exercise. Most importantly, don’t ever EVER beat yourself up. Consistency over time is what matters. Something is always better than nothing.
